The Morrow House was the very first home built in the neighborhood of Sanger Heights in 1886. It was built and owned by a man named Jacob Levinski who immigrated to America from Russia with his wife Sarah in 1885. He and his  family owned the local jewelry store on Austin Avenue.  The Morrow House was build and designed with a great deal of Victorian ornament, similar to that used by the Waco architect W.W. Larmour, who designed the first synagogue for Temple Rodef Sholom in 1881 and the Main Building and Burleson Hall at Baylor University in 1886.

The home’s next owner was Mrs. Bussey. She was well known for serving in the local church and teaching private violin and piano lessons inside her home. Several of her former students and family have enjoyed seeing the recent restoration of a place where they made so many beautiful childhood memories.

In 2017 the home was weeks from being torn down, but was rescued by designer Amy Normand of The Normand Co. and resurrected by contractor Chuck Walker of Crown Construction. The home is owned by Kimberlee Rodriguez and hosts guests from all over the world as they visit Waco.  In 2019 the Morrow House was awarded the Mclennan County Historical Medallian, and was featured in Cottage Style, Modern Farmhouse and Modern Texas Living magazines.
